On Thursday 21st March I was lucky enough to be invited to review Mind Mangler - Member of the Tragic circle at Apollo Theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue.
The Mind Mangler: Member of the Tragic Circle is Written by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shields, Mind Mangler is based on a character originally created in Magic Goes Wrong by Penn Jillette, Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, Henry Shields & Teller.
Mind Mangler: Member of the Tragic Circle is directed by Hannah Sharkey, with set design by Sara Perks, costume design by Roberto Surace, lighting design by David Howe, sound design by Helen Skiera, video design by Gillian Tan. The magic consultant is Ben Hart and the composer is Steve Brown.
The Cast included Henry Lewis as The Mind Mangler, Jonathan Sayer as The Stooge and Tom Wainwright as Percy / Understudy Stooge
The Mind mangler is completely different to all of the other mischief works including west end staple The Play that goes wrong and Comedy about a bank robbery.
This show is such a funny and joyous show and includes a large amount of audience participation before the show including trying to guess the safe code and writing a secret on a card to be used in the show later.
The Mind Mangler actually pulls off several impressive tricks, including audience mind-reading and a guillotine illusion.
I would 100% recommend this show The Mind Mangler with the fabulous Henry Lewis & Jonathan Sayer from Mischief Theatre. Full of laughs, jokes, tricks, magic & audience participation for all the family.
The Mind Mangler plays the Apollo Theatre until 28th April 2024 before touring the UK. Dates and tickets at www.mischiefcomedy.com
I am giving this show a star rating of ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
