Edinburgh Fringe - Nabil Abdulrashid's The Purple Pill - Pleasance Courtyard (Grand) for One Night Only

Posted on 1 month ago

After a barnstorming debut sell-out run Fringe 2023, Nabil’s UK & International smash-hit touring show The Purple Pill returns to the Festival for one night only in Pleasance’s iconic venue, The Grand.

The Purple Pill is a show about trying to be a good person while staying a badman.

The last twelve months have been busy for Nabil Abdulrashid, as his straightforward and knowledge-laden take downs across politics, the culture wars and popular culture have seen him make waves across British TV including hosting Live at The Apollo, appearances on Have I Got News For You, QI, The Last Leg, The Big Narstie Show and a brilliant upcoming appearance on Would I Lie To You.

Nabil’s stand-up, incorporating multiple languages alongside incisive, humorous and razor-sharp commentary on global politics and multiculturalism, continues to secure him an international following. Returning triumphantly to the Edinburgh Festival after a 35 date tour, taking in Glasgow, Birmingham, Manchester and Sheffield, culminating with a huge sell-out, home crowd show back in Croydon. With further upcoming dates in the UK and internationally, The Purple Pill, is about morals and hypocrisy in the personal and external political sphere - considering how being a man, a parent, Black, does not mean one thing. The show is tightly woven, full of stories and anecdotes and a myriad of contradictions, covering as many topics as he can fit into an hour.

Nabil isn’t taking the ‘middle ground’, but he won’t blindly follow one side either. We live in a divided society - but not a binary one. As Nabil has been often quoted - he’s going to say it as he sees it.
